The Bulletin
of the Center for Children's Books:

Focus Piece
Each month we offer a focus on a particular author or artist. Sometimes we use this space to discuss a rising new talent or an established star, but we also like to celebrate those who now live on only in the rich legacy of their books. Occasionally, as this month, we highlight a new feature of The Bulletin. See the archive for focus pieces from previous months.

The Bulletin Online

It is our great pleasure to announce that, beginning with the 1999-2000 volume year, The Bulletin of the Center for Children's Books will be available to our print subscribers as an online searchable database. A preview of this new asset to BCCB print subscribers can now be found at: http://www.prairienet.org/cgi-bin/ccb/bulletin.cgi . The September 1998 issue of The Bulletin of the Center for Children's Books has been mounted in a fully searchable format to give current and potential subscribers an advance look at this new resource. The staff of The Bulletin of the Center for Children's Books cordially invites you to browse through this sample issue. We would greatly appreciate any feedback you have about our new endeavor.

Janice M. Del Negro, Editor

The new online version of the Bulletin will bring enhanced access and searchability that isn't possible in a print format. Starting this fall, you'll be able to use this web-based interface to browse the latest issue online, look through a previous issue, or browse through an alphabetical listing of all the reviews in a single volume year. You'll also be able to search for reviews by title, author, and level. We think you'll find that our new electronic interface a unique and flexible tool for accessing and organizing the Bulletin's reviews, and we hope you'll provide critical responses that will help make our new project best address your needs.
