Welcome to the homepage of The Bulletin of the Center for Children's Books, one of the nation's leading children's book review journals for school and public librarians.

This month's Big Picture, The Turtle of Oman by Naomi Shihab Nye, tells the story of a young boy's last few days in his beloved country before making a move halfway around the world. Our Dozens features books without words and our quote this month is something that librarians in particular won't want to miss. Happy reading!

Our updated and revised 2013 Guide Book to Gift Books is available for just another month, so be sure to check back here on November 1st for our 2014 edition! Over three hundred titles, annotated and organized by age group, will help you select the perfect books for giving and receiving (you can even download the PDF to your smartphone and have it on hand while shopping).

After plenty of reading and deliberation, the Bulletin staff is pleased to announce our 2013 Blue Ribbon award winners, the titles that earned our regards as best books of the past year.

Check out the Stellar Series list! We've highlighted some notable series that come highly recommended and have at least three volumes, the most recent of which has been published in the last twelve months. Happy reading!
